Sean Kennard is making his triumphant return to Hawaii on this very special program. Born in Hawaii, he is a former student of the late Ellen Masaki. He received a Bachelor of Music from the Curtis Institute of Music in 2004. In his final year at Curtis he won the institute’s Sergei Rachmaninoff Award, given to one graduating pianist each year. He will be performing Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1 on a program which also includes Wagner’s Overture to Rienzi, and Sibelius’s Symphony No. 5.
