Aileen Kawakami is a former student of Jean Harling and currently teaches the top three of four students in Hawaii Youth Symphony (HYS) I, three of six students in HYS II and also students in HYS Concert Orchestra. Her students also have attended masterclasses and lessons with Lance Suzuki. She also teaches students as young as five and her oldest students are older than her.
